Nadoe (they/them) is a sensory composer, musician, instrument maker and cook based in Amsterdam and Seoul. They gather materials, discarded appliances and stories from their surroundings and shape them into sculptural instruments. Built from the sediment of the urban landscape, these assemblages come alive when activated, unfolding into immersive experiences. Their practice investigates how sound can blur, soften or reinforce mental, physical and social boundaries, and how it opens thresholds and liminal spaces between them.

Listening and embodied experience sit at the core of Nadoe's work. They approach the audience as collaborators, inviting them to take part and guiding them into resonant states of mind. Rooted in collected stories and speculative imagination, Nadoe’s sonic and performative works bring layers of time, memory and space into the present moment, giving them liveness.

Taking its name from the Korean word 울림 (ullim, resonance), ooolim is the electronic music project of Nadoe. Moving between ambient, techno and experimental electronics, ooolim weaves field recordings, electronic instruments and voice into sonic cinema.

Their recent works have been presented at De Thomas Kerk (Amsterdam), Rewire Festival at West Den Haag (Den Haag), OT301 (Amsterdam), Jedna Dva Tři Gallery (Prague), It’s Not That Far at Het HEM (Zaandam), The Grey Space in the Middle (Den Haag), Seoul Mediacity pre-Biennale at SeMA (Seoul), Mutter (Amsterdam), Art Nou Festival at Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture (Barcelona).
