The work engages with notions of mobility and nationality by bringing together soils from different countries. Each cone of soil carries the specificity of its place of origin, embodying its material history and geography. As one cone is broken down and replaced by the next, the cycle transforms soil into both instrument and performer. Variations in origin, composition, density, and dryness produce distinct resonances, each cone giving voice to a singular soil song that reflects the entangled relations between territory, materiality, and sound.
