During their residence at Nectar in Spain, Nadoe constructed a tiny cave-shelter. By carefully selecting a location and utilizing the natural topography, they occupied the space in a way that dissociates from the conventional concept of property. Using primitive techniques and materials found in nature, such as branches, soil, stone, moss, and plants, the artist created this unique shelter. The entire construction process is documented in the video “Home Video,” which is interwoven with images related to themes such as the housing crisis, nomadic living, and traditional house constructions. An integral part of this project involves inviting various individuals into the tiny cave-shelter and interviewing them with a series of questions about their notions of home. What makes them feel at home? What is home for you?
These interviews are incorporated into the video as sound, blending with Nadoe’s personal reflections and collection of multiple images.
